Political News :Obama announces Egypt's transition must begin now

President Barack Obama warned Tuesday of "difficult days ahead" for Egypt and said the transition following President Hosni Mubarak's earlier announcement that he won't run for re-election in September must begin immediately. In a brief statement to reporters at the White House, Obama pledged continuing U.S. support for both a longtime ally and the aspirations of protesting Egyptians, whose eight days of growing demonstrations led to Mubarak's dramatic announcement on state television.

Funk Master Flex Arrested

Legendary hip-hop DJ Funkmaster Flex was arrested Friday for allegedly sending his wife a threatening text message and then pushing her down in their Westchester County home.

Greenburgh police say the DJ, whose real name is Aston G. Taylor, allegedly pushed his wife down to the floor of their bedroom and knocked the cell phone out of her hand when she tried to call authorities.

Police received a 911 call shortly after 5 a.m. Friday.

Taylor was not there when police arrived, but they caught up with him a short time later and arrested him.

He faces misdemeanor charges of aggravated harassment and criminal mischief when he is due back in court on February 18.
